Boulevardier
Whiskey gives the familiar bitter-sweet aperitif formula a little more weight without turning it into a project.
5 minutes 1 servingEasy

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 ounce Italian bitter aperitif
- Orange peel
Instructions
- Add whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitter aperitif to a mixing glass filled with ice.
- Stir for 20 to 25 seconds.
- Strain over a large cube, or serve up in a chilled coupe.
- Express an orange peel over the drink and add it as garnish.
Make it yours
Use rye for more spice, or reduce the bitter aperitif to 3/4 ounce if you prefer a softer first introduction.
Suggested occasion
Before dinner, especially when the meal can stand up to a bitter, spirit-forward drink.
